Organisational Structure



ORGANIZATION
                The Institute is governed by a Governing Board whose members are duly appointed by Mr. President. The Executive Director is the Chief Executive who sees to the day-to-day affairs of the Institute.  He is assisted by Heads of Departments who constitutes the Internal Management Committee. There are five technical Departments namely:
The mandate of the Institute is achieved through established Technical Departments and Programs/Units listed as follows:
1)   Research Operations  – Biotechnology & Aquaculture, Nutrition & Health, Products Development, Natural Resources Management, Extension & Farming Systems
2)  Research Outreach – Extension Services, Value Addition, Commercialization, Consultancy, Human Resources Development and AROC Centers Development
3)   Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation – Planning & Statistics, Budgeting, monitoring & Evaluation, and Annual Reports
4)   Research Support Services – Central services Laboratory, Farm/Production Management, Biotechnology and Fish Seed Production
5)   Products & Fisheries Engineering – Fabrication, Fisheries Engineering Designs, Processing & Packaging
Also there are three Services Departments namely:
1)   Administration
2)   Finance and Supply
3)   Information and documentation


OUTSTATIONS
          The Institute has outstations in Tiga, Kano State; Maidguri, Bornu State; Dadin kowa, Bauchi State; Asaba, Delta State and Owerri, Imo State. In addition, there are two Federal Colleges of Freshwater Fisheries Technology at New Bussa in Niger State and Baga in the Lake Chad area of Borno State, responsible for training middle level manpower in freshwater fisheries.
